About the training

The Youth in Action-Training on Human Rights and the Un System is a seven-day-training focusing on strengthening political, social and cultural participation of Sámi and other European youth at the national and international level, and aiming to promote solidarity and tolerance among youth. 

16.-24.02.2013, Geneva (Switzerland)
  
During this interactive training, the participants will deepen their knowledge of human rights, Indigenous and minority rights and will be acquainted with how the UN system works. Moreover, they will acquire practical skills on how to plan, fund and implement projects as well as how to mobilize and motivate groups to be actively involved in claiming their rights. The training will also contribute to fostering mutual understanding between the youth involved and help promote solidarity through activities focusing on cultural sharing.

  • Wednesday, 20/02: UN System am political participation of youth, Visit to WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization)
  • Thursday, 21/02: Visit to OHCHR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights), Briefing by GIMUN (Geneva International Model United Nations)
  • Friday, 22/02: Project management
  • Saturday, 23/02: Evaluation
